WHO IS GREG SAVAGE?

Greg is an Honours graduate in Psychology and has a recruitment career that spans twenty- nine years, including multi-office management of recruitment operations in Australia, New Zealand, England, Europe, and many Asian countries, including Japan and China.

In the early eighties Greg managed the London office of the United Kingdom’s largest accounting recruiter for two years before returning to Australia to run 35 consultants in the Sydney office of Accountancy Placements (now the Hays Group), where he was invited to join the Board of Directors at age 27.

In 1987 Greg founded Recruitment Solutions with two colleagues, and built the company to the point where it had in excess of one hundred and fifty staff, eight offices in five states and group sales of in excess of fifty million dollars per annum. Recruitment Solutions successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in July 1998 and became one of the pre-eminent Human Resources groups in Australia.

Having seen Recruitment Solutions through a successful float, including the achievement of all prospectus sales and profit forecasts, Greg retired from the business in late 1999.

In April 2001 Greg joined Aquent in the role of CEO –Asia Pacific. Aquent is a global professional services firm that delivers total Staffing, Search and Outsourcing solutions in the Marketing, Communications and Creative fields.

In 2005, Greg was promoted to Aquent International CEO, which added 10 offices in six European countries to his responsibility.

Over the past 3 years Greg has overseen Aquents diversification and growth strategy across the world, refocusing the company on niche sectors within the marketing, creative and advertising fields – an initiative that has secured Aquents leadership position in this space, and resulted in the business growing fivefold in three years.

He is now responsible for 450 staff in 35 offices in 18 countries.

Greg is a previous Vice President of the RCSA in New South Wales, has sat on the National Board of the RSCA, and acted for several years as Convenor of the RCSA Ethics Committee. In 2004 Greg was made an Honorary Life Member of the RCSA in recognition of his contribution to the Recruitment and Staffing industry. He has spoken at staffing and recruitment conferences all over the world for over 15 years and is a keenly sought after presenter.
